Nafalya Francis strengthens Kajima’s team in new role as HR Assistant

Thursday 27 May 2021

Nafalya’s day- to-day activities will involve assisting with queries on any of Kajima’s staff benefit schemes, coordinating and inducting new starters and helping with the development of Kajima’s refreshed online learning management system, introduced across the company for induction and compliance training.

Nafalya will also support with essential administration including data management compliance, training and payroll.

Nafalya said: “Now is an exciting time for Kajima and I’m looking forward to getting involved in many of its initiatives which benefit both the company and its staff. I am particularly thrilled to be part of Kajima’s Social Values Forum and developing the new staff volunteering policy which will enable employees a number of days away from the office to assist a selection of charities which are aligned with our company objectives.”

Before joining Kajima Nafalya studied a BA in Anthropology at Baylor University of Texas and is currently completing a MSc in Phsycology via the University of East London. Career-wise, Nafalya’s previous roles have focussed around recruitment and personal development as well as admin and PR.

Nafalya added: “One of the things that attracted me to work for Kajima was the chance to be part of an international company. Although our Head Office is based in London we do business across the UK, Ireland and in Europe. I love how this HR role offers the opportunity to be involved in lots of areas of the company and I’m attracted to the fact Kajima has a Green & Wellbeing Team - through my MSc. in Psychology I understand the importance of companies supporting employee engagement.”

Nafalya is a keen volunteer and for the last three years has regularly volunteered at a local safe-house supporting a mother with young children who had experienced domestic violence. At school she was ranked 3rd in the 400m hurdles in the UK and regularly takes part in charity runs - something she can’t wait to get involved in once the COVID restrictions ease.
