KAJIMA’S 2023 AWARD SUCCESSES

Kajima’s teams celebrated a series of successful awards wins and notable shortlist entries in 2023.

Our Velindre Cancer Centre project, in partnership with White Arkitekter, received the Future Healthcare Design award at the European Healthcare Design (EHD) Awards. The Future Healthcare Design category recognises healthcare environments that promote health and wellness, embed quality improvement and support the delivery of treatment and care in an accessible, sustainable and equitable way.

Kajima Partnerships was awarded Best Operational Project at the prestigious Public-Private Partnership Awards for the exceptional work delivered through a Public-Private Partnership on two secondary schools, Failsworth Academy and The Radclyffe School, in Oldham. The team were also shortlisted for Best SPV Management Company of the Year, alongside Springfield Village. Our redevelopment of Springfield University Hospital in London was shortlisted in the Best Healthcare Project category.

Springfield Village successfully won Project of the Year – New Build UK at the Design in Mental Health 2024 Conference Awards.

Our team of Asset Managers were recognised by our partners InfraRed Capital Partners at its internal awards ceremony for its support and involvement in Oldham Library’s project. The Summer Reading Challenge won the Gold Standard Award for Creating Better Futures, and the North Tyneside Schools’ Book Box initiative was also recognised.

Our partner, Cork County Council, scooped the award for Best Family Housing Scheme for our social housing scheme at the ICSH Allianz Community Housing Awards.

The Properties team won three awards at the 13th annual CEE Investment Awards in the PRS/PBSA/Residential Developer, PRS/PBSA/Residential Investor and Joint Venture categories. The event celebrates outstanding achievements in investment, development, and sustainability across the region. Our Student Depot network won the best PRS/PBSA/Residential Development for its dormitory in Krakow. 

Student Depot also won the Best Value for Money award at the Global Student Living Awards. The team was also shortlisted in two other categories, Best Private Housing (Europe) and Best Learning Environment (Europe), for Student Depot Przymorze, Gdańsk.

Genr8 Kajima Regeneration and our partners Newcastle University were shortlisted for Deal of the Year at the North East Property Awards for the formation of the joint venture to take forward the world-leading Health Innovation Neighbourhood (HIN). The HIN project was also shortlisted in the Public/Private category at the EG Awards. The team was also shortlisted in Knowsley Council’s Future Ambition Awards for our scheme delivering the redevelopment of Huyton Village Centre.
